Job Description:
Carr Astronautics is a small engineering business run by a UMD Physics alumnus. It specializes in optical sensing from aircraft and satellites for civilian, military, and international markets.
The intern would work on a USAF program to develop a testbed for an image data calibration system for an intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance sensor for both manned and unmanned aircraft. The testbed will consist of a platform/sensor simulator and a prototype data calibration system hosted on different computers connected by a WiFi link to simulate the connectivity between the aircraft and the command center.
Skills desired:
- C/C++
- knowledge of basic physics
- strong mathematics
- Matlab
- IDL
U.S. citizens only. Intern must be able to work in Washington, DC and Springfield, VA. Both sites are accessible by public transportation.
Hourly Rate/Salary:
$18-$20 p/h depending on experience
