The CMPS Newton Society recognizes donors who have given at the level of $1,000 or more in the previous fiscal year. (Our fiscal years run from July 1 to June 30.) Each year the college offers its Newton Society members a special event, usually in the fall. Previous years’ events include:
2004: Excursion on Doug Humphrey’s retired patrol ship (acquired from the British Navy).
2005: Private tour of the Eisenhower farmhouse in Gettysburg led by Susan Eisenhower, granddaughter of the President.
2006: Private tour of the experimental facility of the National Institute for Standards and technology, led by Nobel Laureate, Bill Phillips.
2007: Private tour of the David Taylor Model Basin in the Naval Surface Warfare Center.
2008: Private Tour of the Lockheed Martin Fighter Demonstration Center (with flight simulators of the F22 and F35 fighters) led by Judy Marks, Executive Vice-President, LM Transportation and Security Solutions.
Newton Society members are also recognized as members of the University’s Colonnade Society, and invited to that Society’s events as well.
